WeedTrimmerReviews.net Reports On How To Prevent Weed Trimmer Accidents
Its that time of year again- the birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, and the grass is ready to be cut. Most people own a lawn mower to take care of the larger areas of grass in their yard, but in order to trim the corners, around mailboxes, and along sidewalk paths, a weed trimmer (also known as a lawn edger) is needed.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, it is recommended that lawns be cleared of all such debris before a tool such as a weed trimmer is used. Goggles are also highly recommended for eye protection purposes, as approximately one-third of injuries related to weed trimmers are to the eyes. Ear protection is also a good idea, as weed trimmers can reach noise levels exceeding 100 decibels, which when exposed to for even short periods of time can cause permanent damage to ears. Adequate protective clothing and footwear is ideal to ensure maximum protection, including long pants and shirtsleeves, and shoes with closed toes. It should go without saying that small children and pets should not be in the area in which the weed-trimmer is to be used.
