Former barman facing jail after hedge trimmer rampage
A disgruntled former barman who went berserk in a pub with an electric hedge trimmer, an air rifle and knives is facing jail.
Jonathan Cox, from Merton Road, Southfields, threatened to kill three of his former colleagues and to torch the Earl Specer pub in Southfields, if he was not given more alcohol.
The 45-year-old went on the rampage after spending a boozy day drinking on October 7 last year at the pub where he used to work.
At around 11.30pm, staff complained that Cox, who also used to live at the pub, was behaving "erratically" loudly in front of customers.
He started demanding alcohol, which he had been refused, and started helping himself from the pub's wine cellar, becoming even more aggressive when confronted.
Robert Tanner, prosecuting, said: "Mr Cox was acting in an increasingly violent manner, issuing threats to kill various individuals.
