Waxing is so last year: Sugaring a safer, easier method of hair removal
When it comes to hair removal, there are many different options. Here's a look.
Electrolysis
What it is: A tiny needle slides down into the hair follicle. The electrical current damages each individual follicle, inhibiting future growth.
Pros: It's permanent.
Cons: It's expensive and time consuming and can be painful.
Laser hair removal
What it is: A laser pulses light energy through the hair shaft down to the follicle where it destroys the hair's root.
Pros: It's practically permanent - usually around 90 percent effective. Treatments are relatively quick.
Cons: Multiple treatments - usually five or six sessions - are required.
Waxing
What it is: A hot wax is spread on the surface of the skin. A cloth strip is applied over the wax and quickly pulled off, taking the hair by the root and dead skin cells with it.
