New look unveiled
Customers and staff had to weave through a maze of construction areas for 22 weeks, Kurt Slusser, store manager, said.
The $5.4 million remodeling project is finished, and to celebrate, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 9:45 a.m. Friday at the store’s entrance from the mall. A donation also will be presented to the Pittston Area YMCA for its after-school program.
On Wednesday, store employees were adding extra sparkle by repositioning some of the new LED spotlights and putting out extra merchandise.
Slusser said the store was last remodeled in 1999. He described the new store look as a blend of traditional and contemporary clothing styles.
New addition Sephora, which carries a wide selection of fragrances, cosmetics and skin and hair care products, now holds a prominent position on the main floor.
In a beauty boutique atmosphere, trained consultants will assist customers in choosing from designer-name fragrances such as Smashbox, Bare Escentuals, Dior and Dolce, as well as Sephora’s own products.
