New West Fargo salon offers haircuts for dudes
WEST FARGO – No perms, no frills, and no awkwardly paging through women’s magazines in the waiting area – just a flat-screen TV, a competent stylist, and a little privacy.
It’s like the sign says: haircuts for dudes.
That’s the calling card of The Men’s Hair House, the Wisconsin-based salon that opened Tuesday at 855 13th Ave. E. in West Fargo’s Pioneer Center. The company’s pitch: An affordable, comfy place where men can get a haircut without feeling ill at ease.
“We try to cater to the guy atmosphere,” said Troy Rinehart, an owner who’s helping run the new location. “There’s not a lot of places for guys to feel comfortable.”
To that end, the salon is equipped with oversized leather chairs, buckets of peanuts, walled-off nooks for each customer, all equipped with televisions of their own. Every station comes with a sink, and every $14.95 haircut comes with a shampoo, conditioning, hot towel treatment, and a shoulder massage.
