Coffee and cash at Elmbridge charity day

Charitable coffee lovers enjoyed a brew for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

People across the borough got involved to raise money for Macmillan Cancer, including staff at St George’s Nursing home in Cobham, who dressed as giant tea cups to serve coffee to residents in the sun.

Elsewhere, Toni and Guy in Weybridge encouraged customers to enjoy a slice of cake and donate to a good cause on Friday, September 30.

Toni and Guy teamed up with Macmillan to offer cancer patients strength in style - specialist hair care advice.

Lydia Brown, strength in style consultant at the Weybridge salon, said: “We’ve learnt that for some people hair loss can be one of the hardest parts of cancer treatment, so we’re very excited to provide such an important service to people affected by cancer in the local community.”

Staff at Weybridge did intensive training to help them with the emotional and practical issues surrounding the sensitive nature of hair loss and hair thinning due to cancer treatment.
