Home Rearranged in Her Absence, Woman SaysA Homewood woman said she was unnerved Wednesday morning to discover a door open at her residence, a painting off the wall and her television apparently covered in fingerprints, police said. The woman told police she and her son went to the house of a friend in Chicago Heights on Tuesday night and discovered their Homewood residence disturbed upon their return Wednesday morning. Nothing appeared to be missing, police said.
Student Wants Bike BackA child was playing on the playground at Winston Churchill School when a 14-year-old stole that child's dirt bike, police said. After stealing the bike from the playground at 1300 W. 190th St., the unidentified teen rode southbound toward 191st Street with another teen, also on a bike, police said. The stolen bike is described as a black-and-white Mongoose dirt bike worth approximately $130, according to the report.
