I have a severe allergy to various ingredients in rubber, which is found on virtually all women's razor heads. It causes my legs to itch incessantly for a couple weeks after shaving. I have tried waxing, but my hair seems too fine for it to be effective.
If you are dead set against depilatories (Nair, etc.), then by all means use a man's electric razor. There are two kinds, basically - the rotary (Philips/Norelco and others) and the back-and-forth type. You should try one of each to see if there's any
