Another star-clad holiday sap fest
YES, it's another star-studded holiday sap fest from Garry Marshall, but at least New Year's Eve is better than its predecessor Valentine's Day.
Another bevy of Hollywood A-listers have signed up for this one, including Halle Berry, Robert De Niro and Hilary Swank - all three of which do an okay job with an okay script.
Zac Efron and Michelle Pfeiffer have surprisingly good chemistry.

They tie with Abigail Breslin and Sarah Jessica Parker's mum-daughter relationship as my favourite storylines of the film.
It takes a few minutes to adjust to seeing former bombshell Pfeiffer in the role of a meek and repressed PA with a horrible haircut, but she ends up being genuinely cute and has a few laugh-out-loud moments.
I like Efron more in this film than I have in any of his other movies.
