Deep in the dark recesses of my soul I felt the urge to visit Duffy’s Bar.
It’s a dark place where serious drinkers go to disappear, but I needed a retreat from sports.
I was growing weary of athletic trivia, of people treating silly games like the fate of western civilization depended on the outcome.
Duffy’s reminded me of a black-and-white film noir fighting a losing battle with technicolor. I relished the sight of Archie the bartender wiping the solid oak counter with a dirty towel. Behind him a weathered moosehead gazing vacantly into space.
“Duffy ain’t here,” he said, answering my polite inquiry. “Haven’t seen him since the millennium. What’ll it be?”
I ordered the usual two fingers of rye and spun a shiny silver dollar in his direction.
I'm going to grow a playoff beard to support my Red Wings in their quest for their eleventh Stanley Cup. Only problem is, I can't figure out if the proper action is to start it (e.g. shave for the last time) after the last game of the season or the morning
This is a complicated question...
The general answer is your last shave should be after the last regular season game is played, but before the first playoff game starts. I suggest shaving the minute the regular season ends.
However,

Billy Jealousy Shaved Ice After-Shave Balm, 3.5 Ounces
by megatweeting
So i’ve been looking for a replacement balm and based on the reviews i thought i’d try this one; it’s a little less expensive than the art of shaving balms. compared to the art of shaving this was just mediocre. it smells good, it does give a cooling sensation – if that is what you’re after, it ’stings’ a little when applying, and it moisturizes just reasonably well.
if you’re on the look out for a good aftershave balm, by all means try this one, but i would also say compare it to the art of shaving balms. the art of shaving balms do not ’sting’ upon application, and they provide superior long lasting moisturization throughout the day. if you like a scent they also provide nice options.

Philadelphians understand that the rest of America finds joy in witnessing the demise of a Philly team. After all, how could such detestable fans deserve a championship? Knowing this target is on the city’s back, the week before the Super Bowl is a particularly agonizing one as the Philadelphia Eagles have only made the game twice since its inception in 1967. Yet for nearly 20 years, the resilient Philadelphia community has sought refuge at one place on the Friday before Super Bowl: The Wing...
