NHL notes: Close shave for Filppula

Detroit Red Wings forward Valtteri Filppula looks to have avoided serious injury after having his leg cut by a skate blade during Sunday's loss to the Colorado Avalanche.

Filppula was cut just above the skate boot after getting tangled up with Avalanche forward David Jones during the first period. He was taken to a hospital in Denver and had the cut stitched.

Reports Monday indicated that Filppula might be available for Tuesday's game in St. Louis, although he didn't practice for precautionary reasons.

"I feel OK; it's a little sore," Filppula told MLive.com."It wasn't that wide of a cut but it was deep. We're working on a skate, trying to get the pressure away from it. I feel fine other than that ... I can walk normally, so that's obviously a good thing."

Problems of shaving if you are 15 and dont use shaving cream of after shave?

i am 15 and i shave twice a week without using shaving cream or after shave.I noticed my skin under neck getting darker and the skin getting rougher for the past 2 weeks and the hair getting darker too
is this due to my way of shaving.

I suggest you use some shaving foam if you still want to look good after shaving!
The hairs getting darker is normal!

When I shave a customer I use as little pressure as possible.If using a conventional str8 I just use the weight of the razor and let the razor glide across the skin to shave. If using a shavette I may have to apply a little pressure because the razor has almost no weight to it, but again I emphasize "a little". You don't want to "scrape" your skin,you want the razor to glide across the skin. You also might want to check your pre/post shave routine/products. Using the proper products that work well with your skin/beard type is just as important. You don't want to use a pre-shave product that irritates your skin because you then start the irritation process before you even shave. Also try something other than Alum after you shave.
